Use a non-sterilized biological indicator as <span class=\"citation-0 citation-end-0\">positive control whenever a processed biological indicator is incubated. The positive control ensures that appropriate incubation conditions<\/span> were met. <span class=\"citation-1 citation-end-1\">Incubate the processed biological indicator and the indicator used as positive control for a maximum of 24 hours at 60+\/-2\u00b0C.<\/span> Regarding should be made <span class=\"citation-2\">at convenient intervals of 10 hours.<\/span><span class=\"button-container hide-from-message-actions ng-star-inserted\"> \u00a0 <button class=\"mat-mdc-tooltip-trigger button image-fade-on hide-from-message-actions\" aria-controls=\"sources\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"cdk-describedby-message-ng-1-47\"><\/button><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:394\"><span class=\"citation-2 citation-end-2\">Color change of the growth indicator medium from purple to yellow means that a sterilization process failure has occurred.<\/span> If at <span class=\"citation-3\">24 hours there is no color change in the processed indicators, <\/span><span class=\"citation-3 citation-4 citation-end-3\">a final negative result is made (the sterilization process was<\/span><span class=\"citation-4 citation-end-4\"> acceptable). The positive control indicator should show a yellow color change for the results to<\/span> be valid.<span class=\"button-container hide-from-message-actions ng-star-inserted\"> \u00a0 <button class=\"mat-mdc-tooltip-trigger button image-fade-on hide-from-message-actions\" aria-controls=\"sources\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"cdk-describedby-message-ng-1-47\"><\/button><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:231\"><strong>OPERATION CONDITIONS:<\/strong> If sterilization process was not successful, the indicator medium will change from purple to yellow after incubation at 60+\/-2\u00b0C, thus indicating the presence of live Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:170\">If the sterilization process was successful, indicator medium will remain purple after incubation. The final readout should be made at 24 hours of incubation at 60+\/-2\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:209\"><strong>COMPOSITION:<\/strong> Each tube contains a population of Geobacillus stearothermophilus ATCC 7953 spores soaked on a carrier. It also has a growth indicator medium of purple color contained within the glass ampule.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"17:1-17:270\"><strong>STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:<\/strong> Store it in a dark place at temperatures between 10-30\u00b0C, 30-80% <span class=\"citation-5 citation-end-5\">relative humidity. Do not freeze.
